Train Truckers follows an elite crew of heavy-haulage specialists as they race to haul the heaviest, longest and most precious locomotives around the UK and Europe road, rail and sea.
No job is too big for this team to handle. Whether it’s an old locomotive or new metro train. Whether it’s a classic steam engine like Britannia heading to its new home at a heritage railway or the brand-new Class 800 Intercity passenger train, fresh off the boat from Japan.
Each episode follows the crews test their engineering ingenuity as they devise innovative ways to haul locomotives onto innovative multi-wheel trailers then navigate long and demanding road journeys to reach their final destinations.
No two train trucking missions are the same. Narrow roads, treacherous weather, weak bridges and heavy traffic can cause additional challenges for the crews. CGI animations reveal the engineering ingenuity the teams use to undertake these engineering feats. Rare archive footage reveals the secret history behind the featured locomotives, the railways they run on and the dedicated people that keep them on the rails.
