Arctic Icebreaker
The Louis S St Laurent Icebreaker patrols the Arctic Ocean, breaking up dangerous ice floes and keeping the Northwest Passage safe for cargo ships. This 15,000 tonne cold water specialist is the pride of the Canadian Coastguard and with good reason – it thrives in conditions that would sink lesser craft. Blowing this guardian of the Arctic apart with CGI reveals 5 colossal engines each capable of producing 4 million Watts, a slanted bow that smashes through ice by sliding up on top of it and a built in sonar that maps the sea-bed when travelling through unchartered waters.
