"Men of Iron is absolutely gripping stuff, the story of the great engineers of the Victorian era, men justifiably described as the makers of the modern world."

Episode 3 - Ships
Not content with having just built the finest railway in England, Brunel wants to go global: A high-speed transport link between London and New York - powered by steam. This seemingly mad project (initiated by a man who has never built a ship in his life) leads to three revolutionary ships, each the biggest and most technically advanced of their time. It is also the final chapter in Brunel’s life, dominated by a monster ship that eventually destroys its creator.
