The Tourist Trap
Are
nations divided by culture or are we really very similar? Using 30
hidden microphones, 11 hidden cameras, 8 undercover actors, 4
nationalities and 1 Mediterranean hotel, Tourist Trap is a daring
experiment to investigate national stereotypes
Using the latest eavesdropping and hidden camera technology, a Turkish
hotel is turned into a human laboratory for a month. Within each week
tourists from a different nation experience a bizarre set of events
designed to stretch their patience and good humour to the limit.
Secret cameras record the reactions of groups of English, Germans and
Japanese and the Americans as an identical series of incidents unfolded
during the week.
Would they be shocked by a naked man showering by the pool? Who are the
most enthusiastic at a toga party? Would they help an old lad with a
heavy basket? Would they complain about the extortionate cost of toilet
paper? Would the British outdrink the Germans? Would the Japanese
outwit the Germans?
