In 2006 Alex came to Windfall on work experience, and after his 2 week stint – which culminated in filming a 100ft tall church being transported across Iowa’s green prairie fields for the engineering series Monster Moves – he was eager to return, hungry for more adventures.
With a BSc in Zoology and MSc in Science Communication, Alex has always wanted to make natural history films, and he’s since been involved in his fair share. He developed the BAFTA and RTS award winning ‘Inside Nature’s Giants’, producing the first 2 series (Elephant, Whale, Great White Shark and Big Cats) before P/D’ing series 3 & 4 (Polar Bear, Hippo, Kangaroo, Leatherback Turtle).
Alex also has been part of Windfall’s pioneering Live formats; coming up with the idea for ‘Easter Eggs Live’ and directing on ‘Foxes Live: Wild in the City’ (BAFTA craft nominated).
He is currently directing on ‘Your Inner Fish’, a series for PBS that uncovers the ancient origins of the human body.
