BAFTA for Inside Nature's Giants

Windfall's 'Inside Nature's Giants' won the top accolade in the Specialist Factual category at the BAFTA Television Awards held last night at the London Palladium.

Presenters Mark Evans and anatomist Joy Reidenberg joined the production team on stage as Series Producer David Dugan received the award from TV physicist Brian Cox.

The win comes just two days before the second series of Inside Nature's Giants begins on Channel 4. The first episode, Great White Shark, will be shown on Tuesday 8th June at 9pm.

Inside Nature's Giants winner of the Science & Natural History category at the RTS Programme Awards 2009 has been further nominated for Best Specialist Factual at the BAFTA Awards 2010.

At the Broadcast Awards 2010 the programme won the award for Best Popular Factual Programme and was Highly Commended in the Best New Programme category.

The programme was also nominated for the 'Best Factual Entertainment' award at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards 2010. 

 The judges of the Broadcast Awards said;

 "This is epic television - seamlessly mixing entertainment with information"

 "A true TV event, an original way into natural history"

 "A unique programme. It bridged insight and entertainment"

Inside Nature's Giants wins RTS Award

Inside Nature's Giants has won the RTS Award for Best Science & Natural History programme.

At the RTS Awards it was said that: 

"Inside Nature’s Giants took an unpromising concept – filmed post-mortems on large creatures – and turned it into a riveting piece of television. But it also gave a deeper understanding about the life and death in the natural world, and included scientific learning alongside images that were – in every sense – unforgettable."

The programme has also been nominated for the 'Best Factual Entertainment' award at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards 2010. Winners will be announced on 26th March 2010.

Sons of Cuba screens at ICA Cinema

The feature length documentary directed by Andrew Lang opens at the ICA Cinema 18th - 31st March and then in selected UK cinemas nationwide from March 30th.

Inside Nature's Giants - The Whale has been selected for Input 2010 the festival for innovation in television, which is being held in Budapest in May.  There will be a session on the film and David Dugan will be attending.

New Windfall Reality Show on TLC

A new Windfall reality show featuring Mega Moves star Jeremy Patterson starts on October 22nd on TLC. HEAVY HAULERS follows a family of structural movers as they race against the clock and battle extreme odds to move mansions, trains, planes, churches and ships hundreds of miles over treacherous terrain. No structure is too large for monster movers Jeremy Patterson, wife Tonya, 12-year old son Greg and 9-year old daughter Ashley, who built the business from the ground up and now move over 350 structures per year. The pilot episode follows the family's brave attempt to shift a 400-ton brick mansion five miles across Iowa under extreme weather conditions.

The team have come to Durban, where fishermen caught a 4.5m long Great White Shark. The animal has been sitting in a freezer for the last 5 weeks, but now the team will bring it out and dissect it - to reveal the anatomy behind one of nature's most perfect predators.
